We will be offering select pullets and cockerels. They will be offered in limited quantities, based on pre-orders. There’s been many requests over the years! We switch up the offers each year!

Black Copper Marans - Lets be realistic. There’s a 50/50 chance of males and females at hatch. There is a 95% hatch rate for our Black Copper Marans. We would love for you to add a couple BCM cockerels to your flock! Truly rare, even tempered, great protectors, with excellent manners. They are big boys, and make a great backyard rooster and have the genes necessary for future generations of rainbow eggs!
The Marans are artists. The ink a hen paints on is the last stage of the egg laying process! The Marans lay 4 eggs a week, 5-8 on the Marans color chart! The eggs usually start off light for the first few, but as the hen gets her ink correct (takes about a week) and by the 20th egg that’s the true shade, but it lightens a bit as the hen lays up until her molt (or goes broody). Consider the molt a much needed break, a reset, similar to replacing an ink cartridge.
Realistically, extra cockerels will be harvested once they’ve grown out to 16-20 weeks, and we would love for them to have a flock of their own! It took many years of searching around the country with private Marans breeders, and there was much disappointment before having the line of Marans we have now. We only hatch the darkest eggs.
DELAWARE - A Dual Purpose Bird that excels in being a great flock addition! I love these birds with their friendly personalities. They absolutely love to explore, are extremely curious, assertive, but are not bullies. They should blend into your existing flock without issue as long as they are properly introduced! They lay cream colored eggs 4-5 days a week. We have a line that excels in Egg Production and makes for a great sustainable table bird!
- PLEASE READ -
There is a two bird minimum. Based on the hatching timeline for 2025: Black Copper Marans + Delaware will be available for pickup in LATE JULY - EARLY AUGUST (by appointment only at the farm). These chicks will be hatched in MAY at the farm. We will email - to inform you of the 10 day pickup window. If you can not pickup during the pickup window - we will issue you a refund - and find them another home.
If you’d prefer to go the straight run (male + female) chick route we hatch March - June. Our poultry breeds can not be sexed upon hatch. Chicks should be pre-ordered in the chick section.
