At Open Gate Farm we hope our birds are some of your flock favorites! We prioritize good temperament, type, and egg color! It makes a huge difference to focus on quality over quantity - our customers can tell the difference! We hatch March-June in Small batches, straight-run only, and recommend pre-ordering in advance that way the birds have a home waiting - and we can hatch exactly what you want. Our flock is state tested regularly, and is certified NPIP + AI Clean. Each year, we open for the season the first Tuesday of the year! Our chick minimum is FOUR. Feel free to mix and match varieties! We do use medicated chick feed for a minimum of six weeks - followed by B-12 vitamin. We do not vaccinate our chicks - or any of our flock. SMALL BATCHES
We are open for chick pre-orders! Batches are planned in advance. Eggs are set February - June for March - June chicks! It’s all on a small scale - and we choose to offer quality over quantity. Thank you!
PULLETS FOR 2026
Pullets for 2026 include (10-14 weeks guaranteed females)- SILKIES, SPLASH + BLUE AMERAUCANA, and DELAWARE. They come ready for the coop and will be ready this Summer. Offers do vary by year!

4 CHICK MINIMUM
Four chick minimum per order, feel free to mix and match. Baby chicks are sold straight run (un-sexed) up to two weeks old. We include an extra if available! Sometimes we do have older chicks + birds available. Please see our pullets + cockerels page, or email to inquire.
HATCH DATES + CHICK PICKUP
We will be in touch with options to schedule your pickup date - after ordering on the website. If chicks are not listed as ‘Sold Out’ then we are - still hatching those varieties.
CHICK PICKUPS: Are Saturdays & Sundays from 9-12pm - by appointment only - at Open Gate Farm - Westport, MA. *Chick pickup boxes are provided for chicks.
